MISSION:
Generation Hope is a nonprofit organization that matches sponsors with teen parents from Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia who are attending college and are in need of financial and emotional support. Based on the belief that education is vital to success, its purposes are to give young parents and their children a support system as they pursue academic excellence, to provide a direct-support experience for sponsoring organizations and individuals, and to create a new generation of ambitious and successful families.

Nicole Lynn Lewis is an author, speaker, and businesswoman, but her story truly begins when, as a teen mother, she beat the odds by putting herself through college with a baby. In 2007, she wrote a memoir called Glori about her experience, which includes homelessness, an oppressive relationship, and a drug-infested environment . Glori led to a career traveling the country talking to various audiences about her journey and her strategies for success.
Starting a nonprofit organization to benefit teen parents has been a long-time dream of Nicole's, but she wasn't exactly sure what that organization would be. Then, in 2010, after a discussion with her husband about God's calling for her life, she sat down and wrote a business plan for Generation Hope, a nonprofit organization that matches sponsors with teen parents who are attending college and are in need of financial and emotional support. Based on the belief that education is vital to success, its purposes are to give young parents and their children a support system as they pursue academic excellence, to provide a direct-support experience for sponsoring organizations and individuals, and to create a new generation of ambitious and successful families.
With the help of her good friend, Kendria Reynoso, efforts to get Generation Hope up and running began in March 2010.
